Website and custom CMS for a smart home specialist

A website for Luma Integration, a high-end residential electrical, architectural lighting and smart home specialist working with architects and developers across the South of England, with a custom back end so the team can add projects and edit every page themselves.

A specialist trade, presented like a design practice

Luma Integration delivers the electrical, lighting and smart home side of high-end residential builds, and most of its work comes through architects, interior designers and developers. The website had to speak to that audience, so it needed to feel closer to an architecture studio than an electrical contractor: quiet, considered and led by photography of finished homes. It also had to grow with the business. New projects are added as photography is completed, so the team needed to publish them without coming back to us.

Built for architects and developers

We started with the brand, then designed a dark, editorial site with a warm gold accent, built around the homes Luma has worked on rather than the kit behind the walls. Key execution highlights:

  • Brand identity and logo, carried through the website and everything that follows it
  • Hand-coded WordPress theme with no page builder and no paid plugins
  • Service pages for architectural lighting, smart home and KNX, and electrical, written around what clients actually search for
  • A dedicated Architects & Developers page explaining how Luma works alongside a design team
  • Filterable Projects index, with each project tagged by the services involved
  • Technical SEO and AI optimisation built in, from page structure and speed to how the content reads to search engines and AI assistants
  • Contact form, privacy and cookie policies and consent handling built in
  • Hosted, maintained and kept up to date by us

A back end the client runs themselves

Rather than bolt on a page builder, we built the content system into the theme itself. Every page has its own editing panel with the exact fields it needs, from headings and body copy to images and repeatable lists, so the team can change any text or picture on the site without touching a layout.

Projects get their own section in the admin. Add a title, location, main image, gallery, scope and a pull quote, tag it with the services involved, and it appears on the Projects index, the service filters and, if wanted, the home page slider. Drag a project up or down the list to change the order it appears in across the site. If a field is left empty the page falls back to the original copy, so nothing ever looks half finished.

★★★★★
I can't recommend James highly enough. We recently rebranded our company and James built our new website from start to finish. He did everything he said he would, within the timescales promised, and made the whole process straightforward. We're extremely happy with the finished website and wouldn't hesitate to recommend James to anyone looking for a professional, reliable web designer.
